I'm not as upset about Jaime's character though that definitely bothers me.

Jon Snow has been an ineffective, idiotic, brainless, mindless, directionless cuck for all of season 8.

Jon has no mind of his own anymore. All he says is "She is our queen!" it's like Jon lost all of his agency.

He's not effective at anything and he's dumb. He contributes almost nothing to every battle.

I don't know why he's even there to be honest. He's the most ineffective fucking sack of a character now.

Jon Snow was a young savage when he joined the Night's Watch.

He proved himself not just morally and with his wits, but also with his combat ability, his grit, and his toughness.

He killed a wight.

He went North and avenged the mutineers who killed Lord Commander Mormont.

He infiltrated the wildlings, met Mance Rayder, got all their intelligence/secrets, and climbed the fucking wall.

He then escaped the wildlings, killing many of them, and returned to the Night's Watch to tell them everything about the coming attack.

He then led the defense of Castle Black.

Then he went North to parlay with Mance Rayder even though it would mean death, and thankfully Stannis saved him.

He then was elected Lord Commander of the Night's Watch as a teenager cuz he was that fucking good.

Jon Snow has always been a bit of a 'good ol boy' but he's also always been about that action.

That's a really weird take on that scene. I don't agree at all. Everything Dany did in that sequence is virtuous, considering her limited ability to influence change from her position as Khaleesi. It was at a personal cost to herself that the person was alive at all, and we also don't know that the other women who were saved feel the same way that a literal witch does! If anything the framing here is showing that she is overly trusting and generous, expecting reciprocity where there is none.

It's certainly a learning experience but to say this foreshadows slaughtering civilians is really stretching and removing almost all the context from that plot line.

You can't really defend the writing here. We've been given glimpses of what she could become, then they go balls deep in the span of three episodes. This was always a possible end for her, but they leapt farther than Arya's ass to get there as soon as possible.

D&D are clearly trying to end the series ASAP and move on to Star Wars. They've rushed everything and it's clear they don't care anymore. They got famous from GoT and now they're moving to one of the biggest IPs in history.

Especially since HBO offered and asked them for a full 10 episode season and they said they can do it in six.

You can't rush art.

Then instead of handing it off to someone with the time and willingness to do it right, they decided to half-ass it. That's the real crime here.
