I kept waiting for Arya to do something. Pretty disappointing that essentially the only thing she did was walk to the red keep, then turn around and leave and almost died in the process. I figured something would happen with all the screen time she got.

While that was true, everything Dany did this episode wouldn't have happened if he was still alive. Missandei would have been OK with it, hell it was her dieing words.

It was a VERY stupid move, but from a storyline perspective it isn't that bad. Her dad was the mad king, "burn then all", etc. She clearly suddenly snapped (look at her face after the bell rings) and lost sanity, her bloodline must have some sanity issues that kick in with age.

I was saying it myself for a couple years. I still think that's how it could go down in the books: Jaime gets wind of Cersei's plot to bathe the city in wildfire, he snaps and kills her thus fulfilling the valonquar prophecy, but during it all Dany is attacking the city and Drogon's fire accidentally triggers the wildfire cataclysm. Made me wonder if those random bursts of wildfire during the battle was some kind of ham-fisted allusion to this.

I figured Cersei would torch the city with more hidden wildfire if she was losing the battle, but Dany did it first. Cersei didnt care if the civilians died, she knew she wouldnt be able to feed them all winter anyway

My most burning question after that episode is how a Game of Thrones dragon is able to produce an infinite amount of fire with enough force to cut through stone walls with ease.

I haven't really agreed with some of the negative reviews of this season so far but this episode was stupid. Its almost like they had an intern that didn't watch any of the show come and finish the writing.

Aria, the cold hearted, night king killer, assassin, servant of the many face gods, is on her way to Kings Landing to kill the #1 person on her list since like season 3. She turns down a marriage, and is 100% committed to finishing this job. She goes 1000 miles and gets all the way to the Red Keep and once she is there says, "nah, this is too much, I'm going to turn around." And then spends the rest of the episode running.

WTF......

I have similar takes on Jamie and Cersie... Such a stupid end. Just don't feel like taking the time to go into it. Huge let down.

John Snow - knows nothing, does stupid things "for honor", Ned Stark style, is a shit war startegist who gets saved by others (Sansa, Arya, dragon, you name it)

Daeyeneris - power hungry raving mad girl who was only "good" because she is used to be the underdog.

Cersei - evil, soul less, no scruples, not particularly smart.

Hound - tough as nails, scary, but actually a good guy at heart

Jamie - Thinks with his dick

This episode, however, saw the following inconsistencies

Jamie - one episode he goes after cersei's will, the next one he goes back to her

Arya - from super 1337 ninja to vulnerable girl that has feelings. Granted, maybe the hound's speech changed her.

grey worm - he had honor. Now he is sort of danny's goon, seems to be as blood thirsty as her. His love interest would not have approved.

Arya literally killed a god damn stronghold of soldiers, has baked people into pies, fed those pies to people before murdering them all in the name of vengeance.

But then Sandor is like "lol, you wanna be like me!?" and then Arya is like "Holy Shit, you're right! This revenge shit could taint me if I go through with it."

So... what was the point of the white walker plot? Supposedly it was to give a nerf to Danys army before attacking KL, but that didnt really matter because Drogon just fucking soloed. I dont think her army even needed to be there.

Was the white walker plot an excuse to unite everyone for the battle against Cersei? If so, why? Once again, Drogon fucking soloed so there was no need for everyone to unite.

They just made Drogon stupidly OP in this episode. Rhaegal got punked by a scorpion last episode. This episode Drogon takes on an entire city and naval fleet of them with no difficulty.

How are you guys critiquing Arya's emotions? She killed a household of soldiers that murdered her brother and mother. Arya has never killed an innocent person from what I can remember. She is like The Punisher in Westeros.

That's vastly different from watching innocent people die by being burnt to death, the worst way to die BTW. Especially when one of those people save her from dieing.

Edit: My problem is more with her suddenly just not caring about revenge and acting as if it wouldn't have changed her at this point. She's done way more in the name of revenge than Sandor has done.

Looking back with hindsight the entire undead plot just feels entirely out of place. You have this medieval political thriller that just happens to have a subplot about zombies that ends up having no substantial impact on the series once its resolved.
