She got really sick this past week. She was almost in her 90s and had a terrible lung inflammation and hyperthyroidism. I tried everything I could to do make her comfortable (inhaler, antibiotics, and thyroid medicine) but she wasn't responding to any treatment. My girlfriend and I decided last night that this morning we need to put her down. She was a great cat.

I really appreciate the support. I think my girlfriend is taking it much harder than me, they grew very attached in their time together. I keep waiting for my cat to show up and start yelling at me to turn the faucet on. It'll take a while to get used to the quiet.

Looks like my cat "Peach" I once had.
She was about 18 when she went. Was so old she started losing her mobility, hearing and sight. My sis accidently backed over her when she was sleeping behind the car wheel. That's a cute cat. I love orange ones. You did the right thing if she was suffering. Getting cats to take inhalers can be a headache so that's awesome that you tried. She lived a really long life it sounds like so you should know that you gave her the best life she could have. It hurts now but it gets better with time.
