Gimmicks were probably my least favorite part of TEW to be honest. You basically just had to pay attention to subtlety/riskiness and hit the right range for your product and nothing else really mattered much. I'm not even sure if difficulty did anything of note.

I'm really glad they're changing it.

The biggest boost is that the gimmicks are searchable and more easily creatable. As before I always felt that gimmicks was intimidating and used the default ones available.

I basically just cloned gimmicks all the time in 2013/2016 once I figured out how to game the system, which is exactly what Ryland was saying he didn't like (for good reason). I didn't like that I had to pick something with 32 or less subtlety if my fans liked simple gimmicks or whatever, or that gimmicks had arbitrary requirements that served no point other than to tank the gimmick rating if you picked an unsuited worker.

I only used the pre-named gimmicks for gimmick ideas, then usually just cloned and remade the gimmick off of something that met my requirements for the worker and promotion, which is exactly what he's moving it over for as it turns out, go figure. It's like the dude who is improving his game actually plays his game.

Thoughts:

....Well, TNA as a brand is dead now, unless you want to rebrand it as Impact if that helps. Apparently it's actually not that bad now, but I've not watched. I'd cut Austin Aries and Chis Harris from the mod for completely different reasons but again, my sheet.

....I'd cut Cyclops, Mr. Fantastic (And the rest of the F4, honestly.), Hal Jordon and Omega Red, the last because I don't even know what Red *does* now, but solely selfish reasons on most of those.

....And I actually really like 2020's gimmick selection as it's described there, yeah. Simpler and waaaaay less of a slog to bog through, still keeping creative freedom and all that.

Honestly you could almost argue including TNA and Impact as separate brands if you really wanted to go that way given how it's evolved over the years and how much talent you could slot into the two, but I mean, whatever, I'm remaining hands off on this for a long time so you guys do what you want.

Oh it's nothing like Aries or any of the other people I don't like, no worries. It's mostly that as far as I knew he was retired and couldn't think of any reason people'd actually use him other than bringing back or remixing AMW or as a fill-in worker, which now that I say that to myself isn't really a bad thing. Apparently he's doing indy bookings now so that first bit's just false now.

Also the whole Braden Walker thing not working out, but that's the opposite of his fault really.

....I just realized Gunner is on the TNA roster still. ...The fact he's in NXT now means he's still relevant as well. dangit >_<

...My issue with the TNA name is.... is it recognizable and established for good reasons these days? Or would any runs mostly be rebuilding projects like Impact's been?

Granted, my sheet's mere existance means I can't throw stones without bringing the house down around me, but still. ....Kind of want to add Killer Kross to the mod personally but the whole we do kind of need to stop adding things at this point thing. ^_^'
