This, it was the only console you could play Rondo of Blood on at the time.

EDIT: NINJA'D

It lacked in the U.S. due to poor marketing, lack of localizations + support from the western market and a high price tag, but it was a great console nonetheless in many ways:
-Sparked the console transition from 8-bit to 16-bit.
-Dream console for shmup fans - easily the best console for the genre at the time, particularly for Japanese gamers & importers.
-Very innovative in terms of physical media; its CD add-on was the first disc-based home console ever, and with systems like the DS, Vita and Switch being card-based nowadays, regular TG16 games can be considered very ahead of the curve as well.
-The Turbo CDs Castlevania: Rondo of Blood is considered by many to be the best Classicvania, with some even considering it the best game in the franchise altogether.

I had a friend with a TG16. There was some game where you guided a ball along a line, and there were obstacles of some kind, I don't remember specifically. If you failed, your ball fell to the bottom of the screen and shattered. We got really baked playing this one evening, and whenever someone broke their ball we all shouted "YOU BROKE IT!" That became a running joke for a couple years. That game was stupid, though.

I had one for a little while back when with bonk and alien crush. Alien crush was so much fun, now as a 35 year old whenever I go to arcades with my kids, I go straight for the pinball machine.

It felt like a reasonable well powered system, but with nothing but knock off type games at the time.

Literally the only thing I know about it is a vague memory of Strong Bad yelling something about TurboGrafx games.

I had one as a kid. There were a handful of legitimately really fun games for it. Bonk, Bloody Wolf, Alien/Devils Crush, Splatterhouse, Keith Courage, Cadash, Ninja Spirit, blazing lasers etc.

It also had a bunch of weird Japanese games that where interesting. Bravoman is a weird as shit game that I'm really glad I played.
