ImaAskYouOut 12/30/18 7:15:57 PM #5: | It lacked in the U.S. due to poor marketing, lack of localizations + support from the western market and a high price tag, but it was a great console nonetheless in many ways: -Sparked the console transition from 8-bit to 16-bit. -Dream console for shmup fans - easily the best console for the genre at the time, particularly for Japanese gamers & importers. -Very innovative in terms of physical media; its CD add-on was the first disc-based home console ever, and with systems like the DS, Vita and Switch being card-based nowadays, regular TG16 games can be considered very ahead of the curve as well. -The Turbo CDs Castlevania: Rondo of Blood is considered by many to be the best Classicvania, with some even considering it the best game in the franchise altogether. ...
