I need help with a ruling,

Cadre Fireblade, Does it effect the whole unit or just models within 6in?

For the second option, lets say you have a Fireblade on one side of a unit of Fire Warriors in a line and only 4 of them are within that 6in bubble, does the whole unit get the buff, or just the 4?

Nope, it's a bit pricey and I don't know people who play it.

"models in units within 6in..."

While GW isn't known for its well-written rules, this only makes sense if it affects the whole unit. I'd have to find an example of an aura affecting models, not units, and see how it is worded, though.

The thing is, you missed a part. "Models in <sept> units within 6in..."

Wouldn't that "unit" part only be present to isolate the ability to models within the same Sept as the Fireblade?

Also, there are other Auras that specify either Models or Units. So I think this one is only for models within the 6in bubble.

If one model is within 6 inches, then the unit is within 6 inches. At that point, every model receives the bonus. See link below for a good 40k forum for rules discussions.

Ya, Cadre Fireblade only applies to models within 6". Whether or not it's wholly within or just partially within you'd have to check The Big FAQ

Kinda missed playing the tabletop game. Last time my friends and I played mighta been toward the end of the 5th or start of the 6th edition. Think the largest I had was maybe a 1,500 - 2,000 point Tyranid army.

That being said, can't say I was content with the cost of the models and the amount of effort to assemble and paint them. Part of me kinda regretted choosing a hoard-like army like the Tyranid instead of something smaller like Space Marines or Tau. Assembling a 10-man unit of Space Marine mighta been much more tolerable compared to assembling a 30-man unit of Hormagaunts.

Granted at least the models are kinda future proofed. I'm glad at least the older metallic models aren't used anymore. I was always concern my Zoanthrope would topple over and crack.

How is the current state of the game?

Yowza. Is that for Apocalypse games or are those much much larger?
