Yep such Wii U ports such as BotW (came out on the same day so not a port), Odyssey, Octopath Traveler, Xenoblade 2, Kirby Star Allies, Splatoon 2, Smash Ultimate, Super Mario Party, etc

Ultimate does practically nothing beyond porting all old content all into the same game. A couple of new characters, like the other Wii U Ports are doing, aren't enough to not make it feel like anything other than a glorified port.

360 ain't that great when both the consoles and the controllers have a bad habit of breaking down. The UI becoming a steaming pile of shit to help push the Kinect just made things even worse

PS4's exclusives are just a buncha dad simulators like God of War and The Last of Us and I got sick of dad simulators after I got bored of Tamagotchi

They all use the same mechanics with slight tweaks to make it look like they've changed things but didn't actually do anything significant

I don't think Marth is capable of understanding hitstun, shieldstun, air dodging, etc.

I don't know about the rest of you but im feeling more towards:

No, they are significant engine changes because they completely change up the playstyle. If you play Ultimate like it's Smash 4 where you had infinite airdodges and no cooldown, guess what? You're going to do terrible.

As someone who owns both an X1X and a PS4 Pro, I can't even fathom how I could rate the X1X higher. The game selection is just pitiful compared to PS4. It's definitely a better overall complete entertainment system, but if the only reason you buy consoles is for games, the PS4 pretty much stomped the X1 this generation.

Microsoft's exclusive lineup flat-out sucks.

While Sony has put out GOTY exclusives several times this generation.

Bloodborne, Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, Uncharted 4, etc.

And that doesn't even scratch the surface of all the exclusive third party titles it gets.

And worst of all, the base PS4 is significantly more powerful than the base X1, and it really shows if you don't have the 4K consoles. The rule of thumb is that the PS4 version of a game will be 1080p while the X1 version typically runs at 900p.

Number tweaks aren't significant changes. These things happen ALL THE TIME in fighting games without changing the engine.

BlazBlue literally never changed its engine, but has had all sorts of number tweaks. If you play Central Fiction like you do Chrono Phantasma... you're going to do terrible!

Ultimate is the SAME ENGINE as Brawl and 4. I don't understand how you don't get this.

Look at Guilty Gear... XRD was an engine change. Literally from the ground up, all new. THAT is significantly different.

Saying Ultimate has a "significantly different engine" is just plain programming and game design ignorance. The reason Ultimate can have so much content in its game in the amount of development time given, is because they literally worked from 4's code (which was Brawl's code), and just tweaking the numbers and porting over all old content.

You are 100% wrong if you think Smash Ultimate is a port. You dont know what the fuck you're talking about lol also, Mario 3D World isn't shit compared to Odyssey.

Switch and PS4 are the defacto at the top for all their top tier exclusives. If there's an Xbox exclusive I want to play (and there aren't many to begin with) I can just pop out my PC. Can't play games like Spider-Man, GoW, TLOU, Mario, Zelda, Smash, Splatoon, etc if I only owned a PC.
