Probably, mostly because Link shuts the hell up and obeys the player's inputs.

Link don't care if you abandon what you're doing to go to the other side of the world and farm money. Some other character in some other game would refuse to go through the door, shake his head, and say "I gotta get the macguffin and see the next cutscene first!"
