Equipment reminds me of d2. Damage is listed as a range as opposed to average dps.

I'm currently level 18, playing as the Rune class (Rune blade? Rune sword? Rune knight? Rune something, can't remember). I'm liking it more as I play more. Getting used to using healing items has been a bit tough though. The controls are more complicated and when I get low on health, I'm all "oh shit need to heal but can't remember how yikes D:" so I run around in a panic until I figure it out.

Controller + mouse (mostly controller. Mouse just for inventory management mostly) I know how to do it, I just press the wrong buttons at first a lot, mostly the wrong triggers/bumpers.

Another thing I did that screwed me over was not read item descriptions. I had spamming a "heal gradually over time" item thinking it was insta-heal >_>. Had a few deaths on a boss because of that. Now I'm better at hit and run fighting and I try to heal myself before I'm too low on health. Bosses take a long time to die though. Most enemies I'm fighting have less than a thousand hp I think but bosses are close to 100k. I'm wondering if the game will be like Diablo 3 and bosses will have like almost a trillion health in endgame.

Yeah it does go up quite a bit but your skills and attack power mostly increases accordingly.

Cool. You'll probably recognize me, but Machete was taken so I don't know how many other players there are with Machete in their name. I need to get one of those usb things with multiple ports on it. Laptop only has 2, so I have to unplug keyboard. Sits on desk next to monitor so I can't comfortably reach the keyboard on it (when doing other stuff, I use external keyboard have controller unplugged). I just realized this. I'm wondering if anyone in the game has tried talking to me. I wouldn't have been able to easily respond >_>.

I haven't explored much of the game yet. Just been to the port, some other city, some cave, the holiday areas and constructions site/rooftop city places. I actually made an ATTN topic to you to ask how to finish something I was stuck on but you were still warned and I ended up figuring it out the next day. I am bad at reading instructions :P

I think I even knew that and said something like "you're warned so you probably won't see this." I was drunk at the time. I was wandering aimlessly looking for something and I wasn't on the right map, but the instructions said what map I needed to be on but I neglected to read them at the time.

I was so tempted to play this game, until I got drawn in by other games. I loved old MS, but something looks off about this one I dunno. I loved the 2D and Nexon doesn't exactly make me too excited about coming back. How do you like it?

But when I was looking for a quest thing, the music changed on a map to some ominous shit shit and people started flocking to a little island so I went over there to see what's up and there was a massive fucking raid boss frog thing and he was the one I was looking for last night and couldn't find and I helped kill him. :D (fucking had like 6 million health lol), so got that quest done by sheer luck.

Pretty fun so far, more than I expected of a sequel to MS1.

I would not call it grindy at all unless you're someone who wants to hit level cap within several hours (which you actually can if you know how). The point is, as far as playing the game normally without knowing the shortcuts, it's not a grind-fest.

It's a quest-fest.

You're spoon fed more than enough exp quests to hit level cap if you just continue on the main storyline. And almost every activity you can do in the game rewards you with exp (map exploration, building your home, trophy collection, fishing, mining, farming, crafting, dungeons, etc). You have to basically ignore all that stuff to end up stuck grinding...

The current content cap is lvl 50. However, the level cap is 60 (which you can unintentionally easily reach just by finishing up the main story quests. The quests give that much exp, so MS2 is not at all a grind-fest like early MS1 was.

Currently there's a nice selection of classes. Knight and Archer are my favorites.

Best another raid boss. He was a bitch. Massive turtle who was poisoning me hard. I died many times and got mad, yelled at my computer and punched my couch >_>. There were like 100 people who showed up for the raid ant they all fucking left :(

1-2 stayed behind and we got him eventually but I was kinda useless and the whole thing was annoying. Everyone else was higher level though

Game seems pretty solid atm. Just keep in mind that the current cap in global server is only 60, but there's a LOT to do already. Completionists will like this game.

What I personally enjoy so far:
-character creation system gives you free customizable fashion to start with and you can collect more from completing tasks over time.
-nice selection of different character skin tones, hair and face choices (and you can unlock more with playing)
-equipment/fashion coloring is "free" (no cash shop)
-99% of what your character can equip is transferable through the account bank
-server events have been really generous on handing out nice items like fashion, riding/flying mounts, and endgame equips.
-everyone gets their own customizable home space that can be as big as a game town and accessable almost anywhere (which includes bank access)
-the trophy system actually gives you rewards worth the time, not just worthless checks off a list
-you do not have to exp grind spamming monster maps to level, exp comes from almost anything you do, including hunting world bosses.
-community mini game invites pop up like every 10 minutes.
-the game masters are actually communicating with the players and send out a newsletter (global server content has actually been HIGHLY edited from what Asian servers had)
-the cash shop is not really game-breaking atm, its mostly luxury stuff like bling
-there's 60 fucking game channels to play on and hunt world bosses. World bosses also grant exp/drops to everyone just for participating (no party required).

My only gripes about the current content are:
-dungeon/raids entries has a weekly limit (to combat gold farmers). Thankfully each character has their own separate limit count, so you can just jump to a different one to continue runs.

-Thief class is noticeably under-powered in current content and needs it's job advancement to catch up (job advance has not been added yet). It's playable, just not impressive.

-you get showered with exp just scratching your ass, that's good and bad because you can hit level cap pretty easy, but need to do some backtracking to content you already outleveled just picking your nose.

My fuckin dude talks like me lol. Was prompted to build a chicken coop in my house after I managed to make it much larger for free (o_O) and started failing at getting items from it over time. Started spamming those messages. I guess this class is arrogant as fuck because these messages have come after him saying shit like "*sigh* it's my job to protect the little people......" and whatnot. Yeah fuck you buddy you weren't talking that shit when the turtle was fucking you up and making you spam healing items last night lmao >_>
