I can't figure this out by googling.

I need to make a graph of Shakespearean genre (Comedy, History, Tragedy) by word count of thirty plays. I've already input the important information. I have several problems that I can't figure out.
1. I want the "Genre of Play" column to list the actual genre (Comedy, History, Tragedy), but I couldn't figure out how to make the graph display it as if it was a number, so I just replaced the genres with numbers. Is there a way to do that, or at least to make the X-axis labels on the graph display the genre names instead of the numbers?
2. More importantly, I'd like the dots on the graph to display the names of the plays next to themselves. How do I do this?
