When you use Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri, Cortana, Bixby or another voice-activated personal assistant, are you polite to it? Do you say "please" and "thank you"?

I'm usually polite, mostly out of force of habit. "Alexa, flash briefing, please" or "No, thank you." I tend not to say "please" if it's a really long request, like "Alexa, play Staying Alive by the Bee Gees on the Everywhere group". And since I don't have followup mode turned on, I don't have much opportunity to say "thank you" unless she's asking me if I want more information.

I will sometimes become rude when she starts making mistakes, especially if she keeps doing it. "Alexa, stop the f***ing music!" after she plays a totally wrong artist for the 5th time in a row.

I said "Agent." eighty times to the robot who answers when I call my bank before it finally transferred me a couple days ago.

"What can I help you with?" "I'm sorry. I didn't catch that. How can I help you today?"

I don't use any of them. Alexa and Google voice are disabled.

Still, doesn't prevent Pandora from playing a song based on a conversation I had 10 minutes before I started the app.

Nope, I just order it. I also changed my Siri's voice to a male. I think he sounds less cheeky than the female voice.

If it was an AI that thought about what I said instead of searching through a database for a scripted reply I would be polite.
