I would say you can't have a relationship with someone that doesn't exist, either, but I have a distinct feeling lots of people on CE would disagree with that statement. And it would probably have nothing to do with religion. >:-|

I'm not a believer but I'll answer anyway.

Some of the themes in the games I've played have given me a perspective on what it means to be a god that I wouldn't have had otherwise. Also, good vs evil can arguably be broken down to free will vs determinism, and lots of games explore these themes. So although I don't believe in a traditional God I think I have a better understanding of the concept and how it relates to normal people thanks to video games. It hasn't particularly improved my opinion on it though since it mostly shows how much normal people are made to suffer because of things that are totally out of their control, which is fucked.
