I'm really not.

The "alt-left" doesn't really exist in the same way the alt-right does, but it seems like the least hypocritical way to describe a extremist who leans left.

Seriously guys, tell me what alternatives you guys use? "SJW" seems to be a go to, but I've explained my reservations about that one.

Okay, if you guys think "alt-left" has a negative enough connotation, I'll use "extreme left" instead. I didn't realize people felt this strongly about it, but I'm glad to know now.

I don't have any. I used to call them liberals like myself but they insisted they are not. Any other term I can use other than progressive which is not particularly descriptive is used quite commonly by the alt right to describe them. I'm not going to allow people I find objectionable to force me to stop using words.

I'd honestly say leftist or far-left are the only non-deragatoryvway of referring to them. And yes, I am aware the far right uses those words as insults but the far right uses things like feelings, empathy, and concern for the vulnerable as insults., So fuck em.

Alt-right originated from extremist right-wingers calling themselves that. There's no left-wing equivalent of that

I didn't know it was a name they came up with themselves. That reminds me of a story I heard about how the Proud Boys came up with their name: it was an "ironic" response to a cut song from Disney's Aladdin. This sounds mean, but god that's just pathetic.

Well, women are in the women's bathroom because they feel like they belong there. That's analogous to self-identifying as a leftist, which I have said numerous times I was fine with.

And so he began to double down insanely, but because this was happening in the middle of the 2016 political racism hellworld, people like Carl of Akkad and Ethan got into his ear and fed him bullshit and helped him dig his hole far deeper than he ever could have. That debate podcast was the absolute culmination and by that time alt right people had started trying to use him as a mouthpiece and a martyr.

Somewhere in there I think he realized he was getting stupidly out of hand. Or at the very least realized things were going to get a lot worse if he kept going because he wasnt going to be able to market himself to pretty much anyone but the alt right skeptic YouTube crowd. Heres hoping hes realized not to do that kind of shit again

They are far right enough that they're on friendly terms with white nationalists like Richard Spencer and Nick Fuentes and they made "Screw your optics, I'm going in" a running joke on the show after the shooting. And they have a ball ridiculing Sargon for being such a smug pinhead.
