Who wouldn't? What reason would you ever not? If you're not a thief, then you've got nothing to hide, why act like a thief and not let them make sure?

Same thing with police searching cars. I don't get why you wouldn't let them, it's only going to make you seem more suspicious and they're gonna search it anyways, why not just go ahead and prove your innocence?

The cops searching a car is a different story. There are reasons why you wouldn't want to. If they search it and find nothing it's not like they are going to write you a note excusing you being late to work. Also some people highly value their privacy. Unless you have reason to believe I'm doing something wrong go the fuck on. What's next? Letting them search my house cause I have nothing to hide?

Also people having the right to refuse a search protects people from potential harassment from cops just because the cop doesn't like you and gets a kick out of pissing you off. Among other reasons a cop would harass someone.

Hell my grandmother had one for awhile that would pull her just to flirt. Until she filed a complaint. He had no reason to even pull her. No criminal record to speak of and considering she had a perfect driving record I doubt he caught her doing anything wrong.

I'd let em search my house too, I don't care. I've got absolutely nothing to hide. Go through my computer while you're at it if you so desire.

And if you're being pulled over on the way to work, and they ask to search your car, there's no way you're going away anytime soon no matter what you say. If you say no, they're just gonna wait on the k9 unit or whatever. If they're asking to search your car, there's probably a good reason in their mind, so just letting them get it out of the way would be the quickest.

So... where did I say that?

Here's a hint: I didn't.

So if you can show where I said that, I'd be mighty impressed.

By the way: nothing you've said has yet to in any way refute what I said.

You claimed what I said was entirely false.

Why would they get a k9 unit for an illegal search?

Alright, let me know where you live so I can have a snoop around your bedroom, you said you're okay with unjustified privacy invasion.

WalMart doesnt require a receipt to return an item.

You only get a gift card in return without a receipt. The item also can't be higher than $20.

Wrong.

They dont want to, but they will go above $20. Ive done it with items over $100.

None of what you said, though, contradicts what I said.

But its only in gift card form over $20, right?

Good reason my ass. Friend of mine e always had the cops harassing him. He never did anything wrong except walk through a graveyard once which is what started the harassment by them.

Also in a stop if you at least get a traffic ticket you at least have some proof to give your boss. If they had zero reason to stop you but did anyways and naturally find nothing you have nothing to show your boss.

I'm sorry I enjoy having the right to not be harassed whenever a cop just feels like it. Give them that power and trust me some of them will abuse it.

Same. It's more than just privacy I'm worried about. As stated giving cops the power to harass you whenever they please and also just the sheer inconvenience of it. I've got nothing to hide either but if they feel I do they need to go get a damn warrant or whatever. Though hell I've seen cops come with warrants with made up bullshit. Had a friend who the cops for whatever reason thought he was a drug dealer. They came to his door with a warrant claiming a undercover agent purchased drugs from that location. Only thing they found was his mom had a single pill which she didn't have a prescription for. (She was taking them herself not selling them)

A cop had my sister's car illegally towed once too.
