No, just the Wii store. But you need to transfer your Wii stuff to the WiiU by January.

My Wii U is my (S)NES Classic. I usually trade in my older consoles when the next gen comes out (then I stupidly buy all the ports and remasters that I just played during the previous gen) but I'll be hanging onto my Wii U thanks to the VC games I have. My only problem with it is the GC controller adapter doesn't work on it so I can't play games using my GC controllers like I could with the Wii. Thank the lord that's not an issue with the Switch.

I just burned my last 3900 Wii points earlier this week in preparation for the eshop shutdown. Everything is now downloaded onto my SD card, so I think I'm ready for it.

-DKC2
-Secret of Mana
-Actraiser
-Startropics
-Bomberman Heroes

I'd have preferred to steer clear of NES games entirely, since the Switch's online service offers them, but 800 doesn't go evenly into 3900, so I had to get a bit more than just SNES stuff. Bomberman Heroes was a bit of an impulse buy based on enjoying Bomberman 64 the one time I rented it many years ago, but nothing else in the N64 section really appealed to me.

No idea when I'll get around to playing them, especially where they're relatively buried (I'll have to swap to the Wii menu and then look at the SD card contents to even see them, so I may forget they're there), but at least I didn't waste $40 like ten years ago.

Guess it's time to start slowly getting a library built up on Wii U for when its time comes.

They made the announcement that it was shutting down, and I think half a year ago was when they stopped letting you add points to your account. The full shutdown of the store (no more purchases, no more downloads, and no more access to the Wii-->WiiU transfer program) is coming at the end of next January.

Okay, along with the six games I was already getting with the system, I purchased two more since they were cheap. ZombiU and Hyrule Warriors.

Now I just need to find good prices for the few titles I really wanted, like Breath of the Wild. Unfortunately, the games I wanted the most also tend to be expensive. -_-

It's one of the best games on Wii U, and one of the only ones that hasn't been ported to Switch.
I'm not even sure they could port it to Switch...at least not in any form where you play in docked mode, it makes such heavy use of the gamepad screen to manage probes, fast travel, etc...

Possibly. Unlike games I'd prefer to find, that one isn't horribly expensive. Currently on sale for $36, my sister might be getting me something for Christmas for the system off a shorter list, so we shall see.

It could be done, it'd just be vastly inferior to using a touch screen to navigate the map. Anything done on a touch screen can be done with a cursor, unless you get into multitouch stuff (which the WiiU can't do anyway).

The system seems decent enough, but now waiting until the seller is online so I can get the Parental Controls PIN since I can't reset the system or add my own accounts. -_-
