This has been standard pratice for collectors editions for at least a decade now. I remember when GTA IV collectors edition claimed they would give you a duffle bag and lock box with it, and the duffle bag ended up being some tiny ass nylon bag and the lockback was made of plastic.

I learned my lesson back in 2008, I feel like everyone else should have learned there lesson in the 10 years since with how many collectors editions end up being complete shit.

My lockbox was metal and the bag wasn't super tiny. It was small but perfect for like a weekend trip. Maybe I got lucky because it wasn't a pre-order. They just had some extra CE copies.

Stop equivocating, and try to argue honestly for once in your life. This isn't about "an image used for marketing", they blatantly, objectively lied about the physical contents of an item they sold. That's false advertising, full stop. It's not consumers responsibility to eat the cost of blatantly illegal business practices. It's why we have any form consumer protection laws in the first place, much as I'm sure it hurts your butt to think that your favorite game company might face consequences for their practices and not have a court respond with "lawl just don't buy it hurr".

Forced or not, Bethesda shit the bed hard with Fallout 76 the actual game. For them to shit the bed in other areas surrounding that game as well is just...well it's literally fuel for the fire.

I do think they need to fix the game, but first and foremost they need to fix their PR. If they're going to be alienating future potential buyers with bad PR and customer service, even for a fucking bag, it's not going to matter if they fix the game or not as sales will just dip further and further from others hearing of the outrage and steering clear to other games.

They need to pull a "We are going to make this right", start making it right in the game and the collector's edition, regain the trust of the core fanbase and any future potential buyers, for this to have any longterm success.

But that's just my opinion.
