It was pretty damn fun. I am still learning how to build shit and what everything does, but I can see why people like it. I like how the storm moves, I like how random it feels, I like all the different strategies that go along with it, I like that its free.

Why does it get so much hate? Its just popularity, right? Because its a legit good game, and its free. And after I died I would watch people, and they are so good at building shit its crazy. Best I got was 13th, but when it got down to three it was nerve wracking as fuck, and I was just watching.

I havent tried any of the other ways to play. Just single player battle royal.

The first one I loaded up was like capture the flag but you had to dance on the flag area (or something) but I didnt know how to do that so I quit

I definitely played halo 2 as a child

I thought it was ok. I'm not good at shooters and they're far from my favorite type of game, but it was fun. My cousin became deeply obsessed with it though, like he does with almost any game he likes. Now I'm so sick of hearing him talk about it or watching him play, I don't think I could enjoy it myself any more.

Yeah shooters are definitely not my thing, but I much prefer third person shooters than first. Like Star Wars battlefront or gta.

It's hardly a building game. Most people only "build" at the endgame and it's mostly just instant defenses, not genuine structures.

Most of the people I encounter on voice in game are really young and excited... And not jerks. But it's a little weird playing with 10 year olds

I don't even bother building. The last thing you want to do when facing others is put away your weapon. Worse yet is the noise you make by smashing stuff. For a time they allowed a chute redeploy which defeated the purpose of knocking down the hotels people build.

All I can say is it's free and not that bad to goof around with. It's not keeping me from my other games though.

I only hate the building aspect. Feel like it's op as fuck tbh. The best thing for leveling structures was c4, but then it was nerfed and later removed. Dynamite is great at breaking structures, but it's throw range is shit. You can make complete and instant coverage, that eats bullets like crazy. You can easily harvest a ton of building materials quickly, store enough to build 297 things, and there's no cooldown whatsoever for placing things. The best things for taking down structures are rare too (rpgs and heavy snipers). Wish they'd lessen how strong built structures are at least. It gets really annoying when you pop someone in the ass a couple of times and then a second later they've built a fully functional motel 6 that you've now got to deal with.

I'm really glad that after the glider redeploy test, they didn't keep it, as it made building even stronger, since you couldn't even kill people that built really high with fall damage anymore.

Other than finding the building to be op, the rest of the game is pretty good. The mounted gun you can find is great, even though they made it overheat faster now. One of the few things that can rip someone's structures to shreds.

I dont think building is op if everybody can do it just as easily. I think it makes it a bigger aspect of the game.

I dont think building is op if everybody can do it just as easily. I think it makes it a bigger aspect of the game.

And Im terrible at it. But I really like watching people who are great at it. Makes me want to git good.

I think it's op, compared to the destructive aspects of the game, which are way slower and more limited. It's not op in the sense you mentioned though.

I played on Xbox one night. Solo and teams. Did much better solo. I got 5th place once. And only died because of a trap... I had fun, though. Some people are good at building. And bu the end, they are building up. Building did save me once. I tried to take them out. But it didnt work out so well. So, I built 4 metal walls around me. Then a ramp to peak out to see them. I think they ran away and then died...

There are much worse ways to do it, than the way it's done in Fortnite. I bought the battle pass once, and as long as I play and do the challenges, I'll keep being able to buy them until the game ends, without ever spending another cent. I'm perfectly fine spending the $10 that was spent. Gives me decorations and extra challenges to complete. Also, it doesn't even require me to have ps+ to play it online.

I think spending hundreds of dollars on any game is outrageous, especially if the purchase is only cosmetic.

You are also ignoring how much time fortnite sucks up from the important aspects of life. The fact that kids are doing worse in school, adults doing worse in life and generally most fortnite players spending more time in pursuit of being #1 in a game (aka, chasing the dragon) than important things in actual life (like being #1 at your job, in your family, etc) is why it is a digital drug cash grab, dangerous time sink designed to keep people tied to a screen (aka Wall-E).

Keep being distracted, keep being exploited. It's your free will after all.
