First off, I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving or just a great time in general if you don't celebrate.

I've been a lurker on this board for a while but I rarely post in or create topics of my own, but with the time I've had over the Thanksgiving break, I realized I don't really have much talents or skills beyond what is required of me to do at work. I can't speak differently languages, I can't write, I can't sing, ect.

I've always wanted to learn how to draw but I never had any good resources to rely on to help guide me along. The most I can currently do is just stick figures haha.

So if anyone has a site that has helped them in their path to become a better drawer or who knows of a good site, I would appreciate it if you would share it with me. Thanks

Mmm dont know any off hand but Ill bump this because there are people here that do.

Only advice is to get a pencil or whatever medium you prefer and just draw everyday. Itll amaze you if you keep your work for a year and then look back.

Check out the channel ProkoTV on Youtube, he has some of the best tutorials. You could easily spend months just watching and practicing from the videos.

In general, you should practice drawing different types of lines and should do this 1,000s of times until you can confidently draw lines in any direction. Then you should study perspective and start drawing basic things such as boxes, spheres, cones, pyramids in different perspectives.

I don't have a specific recommendation but I'd recommend starting with some general tutorials on YouTube

This.

As well, try to redraw pictures of styles you like. By imitating other people's work, you learn how the styles work. It may feel like 'cheating' but the reality is that you have to learn by copying other work before you can do it yourself.
