OOT 3D has some new items, and also, a ton of other new stuff that playing it makes it a lot better than the original version by far.

I love OG oot, but I agree. It really gave it a much needed paintjob and brought it into the modern era. I mean, it's basically the same game with better graphics and controls. It's objectively superior.

I actually first played it properly on the GameCube (as I had a PS1 in gen 5). Still loved it though.

Only the dungeons are good

The sidequests are tedious and hyrule field is too big with only, what, 3 kinds of simple enemies and nothing to do on it

I respect it and understand its impact but its vastly overrated

Alttp is far superior with things being clear about what to do yet still having decent challenge

I remember almost everything about the day this game came out >_>. Reading the manual, I think we got a second N64 (or at least had a special edition gold controller when we got OOT)...

I remember arguing with my brother about whether or not the game ended after you got the third stone as Young Link (he thought that was the whole game).

I don't know why I have so many memories with that damned game compared to many others from my childhood.

The only thing that sucks is that I've tried playing it and I think there's something wrong with the cartridge since the game puts a couple diagonal lines through the screen. Doesn't make it completely unplayable but it's like driving while it's raining - you know what you're doing and see where you're goin' but it's still that visual distraction.
