I think Bowsette could be good as a background pic since that's where we can get creative and since it isn't 'canon' only regular Bowser will be used for foreground

of course we'll see if Bowser can beat Kirby for sure

All Bowsette is fan art and would be a hard pass. It's also not a 'fair' interpretation of the character, where it would help or hurt, and should not be allowed in out that rule either.

I can't envision what type of backgrounds people would be using that aren't this. How else would you "represent" the games like that? It's not like you can make a full picture art like in the old contests where the character positions were more important.

Yeah. The idea of using other peoples art without permission is huge no go. Unless Nintendo makes official Bowsette art (and Im not counting that concept art that surfaced when the meme exploded), dont expect it.

Now, I might just put up a giant Super Crown as a background image and see what happens.

Went a little crazy but here's some background ideas I thought of. Just blurred a bunch of areas/scenes that seemed fitting/iconic enough. I did more for the characters that were likely to get farther in the contest.
