I mean. Its fine. Its not great. Its just fine.

Why are people going on about how its the best thing ever? Is it because they really wanted to see Castlevania get an anime? Or because its bloody and gorey, and thats still supposed to be cool when youre in your mid-20s?

Its not animated very well. The fights are super choppy when youre actually looking at them. I guess people just like seeing super stylized designs, even if the animation is crap.

and the music is... I dunno. Im just saying, I havent even played Castlevania and even I know how great the music is. They couldve, like, actually played a song other than Bloody Tears one time.

Also, absolutely nothing happened in season 2, and I dont understand why.

How do you have a year to write out 8 episodes and the best you can settle for it 5 episodes of the main trio sitting in a room, trying to figure out how to get to the bad guy.

And then have them confront him, but then theres literally no enmity because only one of them has even met the guy before.

This is why you don't like it as much, it's a (good)adaptation of tons of peoples childhood favorite series, and a very influential series at that. And again, it's a video game adaption that isn't complete dogshit.

Yes your complaints are valid and I agree with some of them. I personally feel like nothing happened because their budget wasn't increased to match the length of 8 episodes.

But I shouldnt have had to play the source material to enjoy the show. Thats dumb.

People dont tell GoT watchers that they need to read the books to enjoy the show. Why is it different here

You don't have to play the games to enjoy them you dingus, it's just that's where alot of enjoyment comes from and it certainly enhances the experience.

But if I grew up with the games and waited years and years for a proper adaptation, I would be PISSED if this is what I got.

Does no one remember Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust?

It came out in like 2000....and it's still the best vampire-related anime out there.

Visually stunning.

Castlevania was good....but it was like 50 steps back from Vampire Hunter D.

Thats the thing.

I didnt HATE this, it literally made me feel nothing. Which, IMO, is worse than the show being bad.

It is excellently animated with good action and storyline. The whole thing is well written and voice acted. It's phenomenal that it's based off a video game series and isn't trash, but even if it were it's own thing it would still hold up well

Have you only watched 2 animated shows in the last 10 years? The character models are super detailed, but because of that, the animation is super stiff, and the action scenes super choppy.

Yep, spending 5 episodes with the main cast down in a cellar, and then making the villains reenact a giant coup plot that goes NOWHERE super fast is good writing.

Ok well it sounds like you wanted this to be Gurren Lagann or something so I don't know what to tell you aside from I'm sorry you can't recognize that something is excellent and you have a shit taste in animation

Have you rewatched it recently?
It has not aged well at all.

Id rather be picky than blindly accept mediocrity.

Season 2 was rad.
Tons of awesome scenes and I love what they did with Dracula. I'm excited for season 3.
There is a lot less fighting than season 1 which I actually prefer tbh.
Also episode 7 was fucking phenomenal.
