I do have 16 gigs, and then some, and browsers are still ridiculously bloated. HTML 5 was the chosen one. It was said it would destroy Adobe, not join them, bring balance to the web, not leave it in darkness. It's worse than Java or Flash ever were.

Separate tabs, history for each tab going back possibly dozens of clicks.

Want to save some RAM, processor life, battery power, and your whole computer? Install uBlock Origin and uMatrix. They block everything by default, so it takes a bit of shimmying to make sites like Youtube work, or youtube embeds on forums or other sites, but once you get it set up, you're largely safe from BS like compromised ad servers full of malware and crypto-currency miners.

Chrome is not really designed for average PCs, it's more for supercomputers or very high end PCs.

idk ever since I upgraded to 16GB of RAM I don't use Swap. I don't even think I used swap when I used 8GB of RAM.
