For me it goes like this.

Sexy stubble.
Pubes.
Itchy pubes.
Long itchy patchy pubes.
Longer not so itchy but still patchy pubes
Suddenly itchy again and slightly less patchy pubes
Not so itchy, not so patchy, looks more like regular hair
Gets itchy again, not patchy, starts looking like pubes again
Finally looks good

It's like four months of looking like a fucking trainwreck to look great then I become as fucking dumbass and shave it, immediately regret it, and start over.

Mines like the opposite.

Clean shave,
About a week after I have a real good scruffy look.
Two weeks in is prime.

Then after two weeks it's long as hell and more annoying. I look like wolverine by week three.

I grow my beard out in the winter, and it never really itches except for the random itching like when sometimes you just feel a momentary itch.

You should be shampooing that thing every day.

Same. The plight of a super-beardly man is a harrowing one.

Normally I go clean shaven but I'm letting it go for a bit, trying to see what how much coverage I'll reasonably get, before I pare it down to stubble-level
