Movie is decent but too short. Manga is fantastic, but with questionable dialogue for the localization.

The second time, I watched it with around 8 other people I had only just begun working with. One was a Japanese chef, and he was laughing his ass off. It's a teenage horror-comedy. At least Battle Royale actually had social commentary and subtext. Or at least social commentary that wasn't completely ham-fisted and bludgeoned you upside the head like a mallet, anyway. That being said, I'd never say it was "amazing", either. It's above average, though the context can easily be lost if you're a Westerner watching a translated version, and not someone actually from Japan who relates to the subtext and understands it in your native language. --- "Wall of Text'D!" --- oldskoolplayr76 "POwned again." --- blight family ...
