He made a movie, he spent a year on Board James and half a year on Monster Madness.

It's just his other stuff didn't make any money. So he chooses to do what makes bank. And seems to have rekindled his love for it (A few years ago he seemed miserable but he's had passion back lately)

He's not forced do it anymore than you're forced to go to work tomorrow.

After watching his Let's Plays with Mike I have greatly lost interest. He had this savant-like knowledge of Castlevania 2, but with every other goddamn game they played, it's like they had no idea what was going on, or what they were doing. The Shadows of The Empire Let's Play was the final straw.

Yeah, I feel the same way. Watching James & Mike Mondays is usually quite cringy seeing them struggle to play easy games I finished as a kid during a weekend rental. If it isn't something they played to death as children, they kinda tend to suck at it and don't even seem to be enjoying themselves usually.

Yeah, honestly, everytime he creates a mini-movie instead of a review, I tune out. They are just bad acting, bad effects, obvious jokes, and just ... nothing I like about his series at all.

The bottom line is, if he announced tomorrow no more Nerd, a huge percentage of people would unsubscribe from the channel and not even stick around to check out the other content. This would greatly damage the income generated to pay him and Mike and whoever else makes a living from the channel.

That said I think Board James is closer to the real James. AVGN was probably closer to who he was at the outset but he had to Flanderize in order to stay relevant and it drifted from his actual personality.

Yeah, probably, especially since Board James is basically just the nerd dialed down with a different focus.

Really, though, the guy clearly has a talent and he is charismatic, but I just don't know how much of a career he could have in front of the camera without the nerd.

Also, has anyone noticed how sickly he looks in the last few episodes? His hairline is receding and he is massively pale and looks extra skinny. Did he say anything about that?

He looks fine but is definitely rapidly balding. That's just genetics though.

He's getting to be about that age where one has to start worrying about blood sugar and blood pressure, and the most effective way to deal with both is losing a good amount of weight.
