Taiwan based electronics manufacturer, Foxconn is struggling to find "skilled" workers in its facility it's built in Wisconsin and is considering IMPORTING workers from CHINA to fill in the labour that pays 50,000 a year!!

The maker who makes components for Apple and other tech firms such as Sony and Microsoft who have built their Playstation and XBOX consoles are facing a tight labour market for the plant that is getting 3 billion in incentives from the midwestern state.

The company pledged to hire 13,000 workers but the total may be lower as it scales back its initial plans

The company maintained that "Wisconsin first commitment remains unchanged" as they said that they hired people with high-value production and engineering and in the R&D field.

Chairman Terry Gou was looking for company engineers in China to transfer to the location as this groundbreaking plant was unveiled by Trump who claimed credit for the decision to build the plant in the United States

Republican Governor, Scott Walker who lost re-election to Tony Evers was touting the deal as an achievement but critics claim the state will end up losing as a result of the large subsidies..

Tony Evers, the man who beat Walker says the project took money away from other state ventures

The problem isn't importing workers from China... the problem is exporting workers to Wisconsin, when it's a Taiwanese company! Why not go from China to Taiwan... or, if you wanna get political, China to China.

lmao. When people and politicians say that they would like manufacturing to return to the U.S., I think they mean they want more jobs for U.S. Americans. I think theres some sort of loophole here.

I consider it completely unimportant who in the party will vote, or how; but what is extraordinarily important is this who will count the votes, and how.

Ya know, I'm done with all this equality and inclusion BS. Hire those best suited for the job, simple as that. Gender, race, or whatever be damned. If Americans want work then be qualified.

I mean isn't merit based promotions jobs always been proven to be more useful than those jobs that relied on class , money, influence, social standings. or some times even education but minus the work ethic

Most of the time, the claim "we can't find any Americans for this job" is bs to meet the bare minimum flimsy standards of H1-B or other visa programs, to exploit said visas to bring in foreign workers for less money and total control over the employees (since the worker has his visa through the company, and thus the company can terminate said visa on a whim).

Whatever happened to letting Americans work American jobs? First they exported the jobs, now they import the workers. Can't win!

Ironically, it seems that foreign-owned companies that open up factories in the U.S. treat American workers better than actual American-owned companies do, these days.

I'm imagining it's going something like "What americans don't want to work 16 hours a day 6-7 days a week?"

Every sort of manufacturing job I've ever looked at expects you to work some pretty stupid hours.
