You don't really need to know too much about the world and backstory, although it can help.
Brief rundown: Geralt supposedly died several years ago. The first game involves him being found by Triss and a few other Witchers & he has amnesia. There is a plot to wipe out the Witchers, and Geralt has to stop the bad guys. At the end of the first game, Geralt stops an assassination attempt against King Foltest of Temeria-- and this leads directly to the beginning of Witcher 2. There is a major branching point at the end of act 1 of the Witcher 2. ... Copied to Clipboard!
