It's always been implied that Master Hand is actually the hand of whatever kid is playing his figurines, acting out the events of Smash Bros, no?

I feel like this was confirmed in the recent Direct too. (BTW, Master Hand is a lock against Wario next round simply because of this Direct, and the logic provided by the voter psychology segment does the argument for me)

I think it makes sense Falcon wouldn't blow out Richter. Falcon is lower end of the original 12 that everyone takes for granted. Richter is one of the shiny new toys for the Smash community, and while Falcon will pull rank on him for a win, he won't make him look like trash either. Maybe if Falcon had gotten a memorable moment in one of the new Smash trailers, he could have done so, but he didn't die like Luigi or get couped by K. Rool like Dedede did. Richter would still at least be high-tier fodder with the Smash boost, which is all you need to look decent against a guy who is just Smash and a cool look.

Yes, it's definitely a shame that newer games aren't getting quite as much respect as they deserve on this site now. Also, the site's average age being over 30 might explain why multiplayer gaming has declined on this site. With a lot of people having jobs and family now, it's harder to set aside time for a multiplayer gaming session with other people. Even if you can find the time for a multiplayer gaming session, other people might be unavailable to play at the same time that you are available. It's harder to gather up a large number of people at one specific time for some multiplayer fun.

There have been some polls that do suggest the site is moving away from multiplayer gaming. Call of Duty getting weaker after 2010 might be more attributed to a general multiplayer gaming deboost. Other multiplayer focused games released after 2010 have faced difficulty in gaining traction on this site. Perhaps the only exception to the rule are Nintendo games like Smash and Mario Kart.

Speaking of Xenoblade, the direct seemed to imply that the main character from XB2 (Rex) would have been an inclusion if the game had come out earlier in their dev cycle. Really glad that didn't happen since he's probably the lamest RPG protagonist I've seen in the last decade.

My first choices for smash inclusion would be Phoenix or someone from Dragon Quest (Slime if they could figure out a good moveset? Loto?)

One point about Sans and match pics: I think he looks really bad in this match pic format. He's a 2D character with a kind of ugly style, surrounded by clean, 3D models.

I mean, if you play Undertale, Sans fits much better, because the game has a stylish 8-bit design, and Sans is meant to be lovable, not really ugly. But I guess it really doesn't work when you fit him into a box and the thing next to him is a 3D smiling yellow ball.

I enjoyed the mention to the Thinking Fast and Slow book. My father has talked about it before and I might read it.

So put me as one of the two listeners who liked that part!

Looking at Division 4.

Bet you'll didn't think Bowser vs Charizard would be the 2nd easiest match of the division.

I'll still say that Resident Evil as a whole hasn't dropped the ball. Just Leon. Which is unfortunate because I love Leon, but being ranked slightly higher than Tidus in the stats is just not a good look for him.

We'll find out if beating Joker is actually worth anything this round against Sub-Zero. I wouldn't be surprised if Claire gets beaten pretty badly.

It isn't crazy to suggest Leon would have more crossover than other action stars like Dante. Even RE2 was on the N64 and Gamecube. It was actually a pretty big seller on the N64.

I often have good ideas but can't make art to save my life. Will do if something comes up.

Enjoyed the analysis on voter behaviour and pics mattering a lot with the compulsory votes in all 4 matches. If it were only 1 match per day I think Tails/Knuckles/DK/Crash do a lot worse.

I'm cool with Ken because they didn't make him a straight up Ryu clone and gave him his unique moveset from Super Turbo (which carried over into his other incarnations). That version of Ken is super fun to play as.

Regarding KP's comments on Incineroar:

It's true that Incineroar isn't exactly too popular within the Pokemon fanbase. For comparison, here's all of the fully evolved Gen 7 starters:

Primarina might actually be even more hated than Incineroar because a lot of Pokemon fans think it looks too feminine.
