Ciri is a kid in most of the books but they might have aged up her character a bit. Or fill in a lot of the blanks with flashbacks. Hard to say. I don't think Witcher 1 starts that long after the books. I think just a couple of years. But Triss and Yennefer hide their true appearance with magic as well. They're way older than they look.
