Board 8 > The Witcher: beated (spoilers)

I was just going to play the third game, which everyone says is amazing, but someone convinced me to play the series.

I've never played a game quite like this. I was shocked to learn it came out in 2008, it felt like something from 2003. It has a lot of elements that are weird and kind of bad, but for a medieval fantasy world and a bog standard plot, it has so much personality. I enjoyed it a lot.

Anything I should know going into the second one?

Be prepared to relearn entire game systems like alchemy, combat, and how potions work. And then again in Witcher 3.

2 is way more polished, I enjoyed Witcher 1 but I would not say it is actually good like 2 is. It's very streamlined (but still has that depth of personality), so I dont think there is much to be warned about. Just make sure to do the sidequests you want to as they come up, as just like the first game, plot progression will lock old ones off occasionally.

One thing I thought was weird is that the first game warns you about being locked out by chapters progressing only once. Every other time it just happens without warning.
