Just reached the desert place called the rat cellar I believe, Ramza is a Knight would be a samurai if I had the weapon for it. I also have a summoner and a couple of thieves which will be Lancers whenever I get spears.

I like to get the double weapon ability from being a ninja I think, then make him a monk so he can punch everything into oblivion

You're still in the Tutorial and somehow manage to have a Samurai? You should grind less btw.

I kinda like the law system of the GBA versions but really did not like how learning skills was tied to your equipment. Was definitely a pain in the arse to teach a character dual-wield for example one or two characters at a time if you have only a few equipment that can teach it.

I'm guilty of this. I probably grinded to level 99 and maxed out as much as I can of all the jobs as-soon as the first grindable random battle was available. The "tactics" part of the game didn't really apply to me when everyone is overpowered. On the flip side, I'm happy to finally use calculators and magic for once when I maxed out everyone's faith.

Random encounters scale with your level and story encounters do not.

Just in case you don't know.

The difficulty of random battles still scaled down though as you obtain better skills/passives. Blade Grasp, though very grinding to fully utilize, trivialized anything with physical attack.

On another note, I never made a low brave unit to try out Treasure Hunter. Should try it out one of these days.

It is great, isn't it? I remember when I got War of the Lions and learned it's Japanese translation, "shirahadori," (lit. 'grasping the blade') then looked it up.

The article which I read said that it's an extremely difficult technique to learn, because, well, obviously, you can get killed just training at it. It's really not recommended to try in actual battle except when you are seriously about to buy it, so there probably aren't many people who ever knew how to do that, actually catch a blade mid swing from a samurai.

I wouldn't say it was that bad, but it certainly wasn't what we were hoping for when it was first announced. I was definitely hoping for another game like the original FFT that would have shown Ramza coming back in some way.

Spoiler for FFT.

Didn't he die in the ending of the game?

Ramza is the ubersquire. Every chapter he gets a new ability to learn. Once you hit Chapter 4 I believe, you can learn the skill Ultima if you get hit with it by Celia or Lede during their final story battle. There might also be another way to learn it that I can't remember at the moment.
