I cant imagine anything more frustrating. I barely have time to game as it is, so if the whole thing is so slow I can see myself droping the game fast. It doesn't do anything amazing in the gameplay realm, it is just an open world western game. If you were to play the original Red Dead Redemption you would have exactly the same experience. So I know I would like it, but that is because I like all open world games as long as they are competently made. So in summary, get RDR2 if you want a by the numbers open world game, and get Spider Man if you need something with a little more stuff added to the gameplay. --- I am a senior software engineer. One of the main reasons I love Elder Scrolls (and DkS series to an extend) is how you can craft equipment (armors/weapons) and it gives an unique feel to the character. Again, my main gripe is the people complaining about the slow animations. I can see myself getting frustrated because it took me 10 minutes to loot the bodies after a fight. RDR 2 does it better than any open world game I've played due how you can interact with every pedestrian, animal and so on. I'm not saying RDR 2 is perfect as no game is but it's better then Spider-Man on every level for sure. And my point is you just described every generic open world game, and that is what RDR 2 is. Any time someone describes a competent open world game, they always use buzzwords like "immersive". Hell, at this point saying that an open world game is immersive should be the blueprint on saying your game has no real content. What I am saying is that Spiderman is more fun because you have the added element of super powers in an open world. At the end of the day I don't care if it takes me 5 minutes or 5 years to travel from one end of the map to the other, I just want to enjoy doing it. It is the same reason I have more fun playing Saint's Row vs. GTA even though I love both series to death. Plus I know I will like RDR2, because I loved RDR. Once it comes out on PC I will gladly pick it up and probably put close to 200 hours into it like I have every Rockstar open world game. But am I going to kid myself into thinking that it is somehow superior because it is made by Rockstar despite doing the same thing that they have been doing for the last 15 years? No. I'll like it because it is open world and even bad open world games are good in my eyes. --- I am a senior software engineer. But if someone doesn't like cowboys(or just doesn't like RDR/RDR2), but loves Spider-Man, it might be better. Or if they like swinging around the city instead on riding a horse around. I have been playing Marvel Spider-Man constantly. Many of "side quests" appear randomly and they involve in beating up thugs, chasing down trucks, fighting at construction sites, and trying to remove bombs. Outside of finding crimes/criminals, you search for collectables (backpacks, landmarks, solving lab problems at lab stations). I do enjoy Spider-Man.
