It's still a decent sci-fi monster movie, but it just doesn't feel scary anymore.

I watched Alien for the first time a month or two ago by recomendation from PotD. I liked it but it was definitely super dated and pretty weak from a horror standpoint.

it's definitely paced like an older movie, but alien is a super fun watch
I like that old movies were often about scenery (setting) and talking (information pertaining to the plot). even if the plots could be simple, they would dramatically unfold. I still love new movies, but they're often a total clusterfuck --- girls like my fa ... Copied to Clipboard!

Strange thoughts.
Alien came out in 1979, Logan's Run came out in 76 and feels super dated. A New Hope came out in 1977 and doesn't feel as dated. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

The movie has basically been in development for 40 years, if you look at the original release (which is hard because even the Betamax version had some effects improved from the theatrical release) then it starts to look more dated. Anyways, Alien had some outdated stuff, but I do think hold up pretty well. --- I am a senior software engineer. If you see me post here, I am tired of writing TPS reports. ... Copied to Clipboard!
