I mean, if there's any unworthy shitstain whose usage of this phrase is deified by a group of shitty people to enact violence, then fuck that guy. Get him the fuck out of here.

But I have to say, I do genuinely like a good beer. Gin is my preferred beverage, but to get by in this life, it's beneficial to develop a taste for beer. I'm sitting here, getting rid of a few brews - I don't mind a decent beer.

Anyone who drinks a light beer like XXXX Gold is fucking awful, though

I don't mind a good dark beer. I try to stay closer to the less heavy beers, like rn I'm drinking Pure Blonde longnecks - but I can appreciate a good dark beer.

Whatever reason that might have lead to this, I respect - whether it be health reasons or a matter of personal taste. I do like spirits more than beer, some for unhealthy reasons ("hoo boy that's a lot of alcohol") and other times because I just like and/or handle myself better on it ("hoo boy I like a good drop of gin")

Cool, no hate. My preferred beers are Coopers and Cricketer's Arms, though I'll go for a nice Pure Blonde when I'm feeling fat.

yeah, actually i prefer beer for moderation when i get into the rhythm of drinking. i definitely miss drinking my favorite seasonal releases, especially around this time of the year in particular. unfortunately over the past few years i've developed an allergic reaction to hops.

I pretty much drink any beer. Domestics, imports, crafts.

If I'm out and see a brown/red ale/ESB on the menu, I'll usually lean toward those. Not big on sours, but I'll usually try em out because every now and then I find a great one.

I'm not on the "Triple Double Super Mega Salty Spitoon How Tough Are Ya" IPA hype train, though.

The only beers I won't drink are light strength, medium strength or a beer that is otherwise just the worst.

A couple years ago, a friend of mine turned 21 - drinking age is 18 over here, but we still do 21st birthday parties because of Americanisation. They had an open bar - so I made my way down the bar tap. Tooheys, Coopers, Carlton, Reschs, VB - all of these Australian beers. And every time, I would neck the beer. Just scull that shit.

Now I had already drank like 5 beers at the time that my story takes place. But you can be assured that if it was a more bearable beverage, I would have been sent to hold my own.

So I down these five drinks. Some of them go down easy. Others are a bit of a struggle. But they're all down the hatch.

So in comes drink #6, XXXX Gold. It's a light beer from Queensland, it's mid or light strength and it tastes like fucking garbage. It's a dropkick beer that only old alcohol-ruined fogeys drink, or that Garbo redneck trash drink.

I have a schooner full of it. 425 ml of this beer. And I down it.

But that weak, stale, pissy taste hits the end of my tongue like a gag reflex, and to my continued shame and embarassment, I tilt my head to the side and I puke.

I've puked on a fair few beers due to over consumpton. But on very few beers have Inpuked on solely the taste. XXXX Gold is that beer for me.
