Parasite Eve isn't popular. Uncharted would beat it easily and Nathan Drake would beat Aya Brea easily. it's just Sully isn't that popular.

I don't think I've heard of a single Uncharted fan who doesn't like Sully.

But that's the thing - Uncharted isn't super powerful on here. Nate himself is just barely a low midcarder (he MIGHT beat Chief this year but that's more due to a suspected Chief decline than a Nate boost).

Yeah, Aya v Victor will be my first missed point. I'm pretty surprised about it, Uncharted may not be super well-loved around here, but I figured Sully could beat Aya at least, being that she hasn't had a game in like 10 years.

These aren't blow away results or anything, but people on this site do love their Square RPGs and the signs were here. I remember getting a Parasite Eve match pic on the front page on the final match of that shitty years contest, and took notice of the fact that someone people had some fond memories of the game. It was certainly more than Sully would have going for him.

This. I doubt a majority of Gamefaqs users have played either game, so a lot probably just see it as "generic-looking old guy in suit" vs "cute girl". Which of those do you think'll appear more to GameFAQs?

I'm not very famliar with Parasite Eve or Uncharted, so I'm honestly unsure if I'd recognize any non-protagonist character from either series (I definitely can't name any, anyway).

Geralt's both a protagonist and a character with more striking and fantasy-like design, so I have no doubt he's stronger than Sully, at least. Whether he can make it to the 2nd round's definitely debatable, though (was a bit unsure which to pick myself).

Chances are most people don't know either of them and are picking the one with a hot girl pic.

Aya looks like a Final Fantasy character in her pic.

So if nothing else she has the Square and Tetsuya Nomura factor.

It's mainly OldFAQs. It's very hard for a newer character or game to amount to much in these contests. Parasite Eve might be a C-list series, but that's still enough to win here.
