So jealous of that FFIV draw that had my two most wanted relics on it. Course someone else would probably really like my FFIV draw I just got dupe screwed-- it was an amazing draw on paper.

and out of mythril again. some good elemental gear at the very least (that was actually my first wind-boost armor that wasn't a hat). like Galuf, Lightning USB is competing with the imperil BSB in 5* magicite but i think in this case it's worth it because quickcast = more meter, so should still be able to lay down some imperils. might even give her ace striker for famfrit, or maybe i could get my imperils from Edgar and kick Celes out. that's kinda tricky.

and of course i still haven't pulled on any realm with a lightning chain, so if i get one of those i probably wouldn't even need any imperils.

Lightning USB is definitely worth using, and lets you build enough bar to alternate USB/BSB while rarely falling out of quickcast.

As usual, I'm torn in the selection. Type 0 seems like the best choice as the only one where I have no dupes. But I should do the realm draw to see if I get dupes before picking it and I really don't want to do that one before IV, V, VII, X...

Well there doesn't seem to be a time limit on the selection so you can take your time on it. I'm definitely waiting until I need one to pick it.

yeah not really a question of if it's worth using, just what is the optimal usage? do i use the glint at all anymore? do i use ace striker instead of 30% damage? does she become Ignis's target for crit buffs now instead of Celes? Celes is better DPS while using abilities (at least, with the 6* skill for her and no glint for Lightning) but her USB casts are going to do nothing while Lightning's SBs will be really strong. also with her OSB i could have her breaking savage mode instead of Orlandu. probably can't kick him out but i'm also not entirely sure if he can handle it himself. or if he can with lifesiphon, maybe having Lightning do it once in a while would be enough to let him build meter with abilities instead of lifesiphon. as of now still only have this theory party in my head. i haven't even bought the 6* lighting spellblade or honed ripping bolt.

i agree it is kinda hard to justify an early pull on T-0 when it has no chain. though at least for me, now that i have pulled on all the earth chain realms and both failed to get them but did get Galuf USB1, it makes Cinque USB pretty much a perfect fit and could be enough to let me beat Quetz.

I can't guarantee it's optimal but usually the way I use her is with Ace Striker, I lifesiphon on her first two turns and then as long as the boss has an AOE attack you can USB with her third instant action, and then she's basically fastcasting for the whole fight. That also gives you 3 offensive actions so you skip the weakest part of Ripper Bolt. I don't think the glint is really worth it if you have her USB. (Maybe a different story if you're using Flash Disaster)

I don't think it makes sense to use her OSB unless you really need to because her USB and BSB do more for you. If you're using Orlandu against Famfrit he's perfect for breaking Savage mode because there's only one SB he wants to use in that fight.

Assuming you have Lightning+ weapon and armor, the elemental multiplier goes from 1.9 without Glint to 2.6 with Glint. That's around 40% more ability damage. Might be overkill, but I think that's worth 1 bar every 25 seconds.

How are you calculating that? Because her USB also gives en-lightning so using the glint instead of USB doesn't get you any additional damage and using it on top of the USB gets you the smaller stacking bonus - but at the cost of SB bar you could use for the imperil BSB that boosts damage for the entire team.

Very nice! Maybe Quetz is possible now without a chain!

I think I should hold back on these for now though since I may want to pull on FF14's event banner for the wind chain, getting Barbariccia's USB gives me hope for Adamantoise.

With my new Shantotto AOSB I was able to beat Geosgaeno, although I did not master it. 55.08 clear, using Larsa as an entruster in the first half of the fight, and then throwing down his BSB in phase 3 to absorb the Petrify and act as a second healer. Shantotto was using the entrusts to cycle CSB with her SSB (which boosts the team's MAG/RES along with 8 lightning hits), then using the AOSB near the end as an almost-finisher. Ashe was doing her thing, and Rapha's USB gives team haste, enlightning,and magic boostga... she's not great, but I think it's the best option I have. But I don't know, maybe I should try to fit Vivi in somehow (but if I do that I lose both haste and shellga so I'm pressured for ability slots.)

Here's the math on elemental buffing.
First, what you need to know, is that bonus damage from weapons (+20%), armors (+20%), en-element (+50% - +120%), and chain field effect (+20%/+50%) all stack together additively.

The Glint allows en-element stacking of up to 3 levels. This effect needs to be refreshed every 25 seconds, but you can use other sources of en-element to rise the en-element level. So Glint->USB->USB gets you to level 3. If you don't use the Glint again within 25 seconds, you drop to level 1, otherwise you can stay at level 3.

En-element level 1 gives +50% to abilities and +80% to soulbreaks.
Level 2 gives +80% to abilities and +100% to soulbreaks
Level 3 gives +120% to both abilities and soulbreaks.

So if you have a weapon, an armor and level 1 en-element, you get +20%+20%+50% = +90% (1.9)
If you have a weapon, an armor and a level 3 en-element, you get +20%+20%+120% = +160% (2.6)

I hope that didn't give you too much of a headache.

Akkad>Rufus>Dullahan>Four Fiends

Akkad hits really hard even after breakdowns especially if he dispells but I still killed him quick with Squall + Laguna, also tried out Morrow's USB on him for another attack break, killed him faster than he could kill me by entrusting meter to Squall and using his AOSB to skip the last phase.

Rufus is kinda annoying with his piercing attacks, but he's pretty much the same as always.

All Dullahan really has going for him is his Northern Cross which causes stop, 3 fire mages, Strago and Alma with her astra USB made him no threat.

The fiends were actually the easiest, probably because I used my Famfrit team on them which kills them so fast the couldn't do any of their status effect attacks.

The optimal water mage team right fit for Belias right now is Rydia, Strago, OK, Vivi/Palom and Elarra, and not a lot of leeway for much else.

My only other non drawn realms are 1, 8 and T. I will probably draw these anyway but I'll have to think about it.

Uh, strong disagree. The realm draws are still a better value than anything else we'll see before 4th Anniversary. The fact that they'll be refreshed in 6 months changes literally nothing since you wanted to do all of them long before that anyway... it just means we have more pulls to look forward to.

The realm draws are a good value, but that doesn't make them an auto-pull by any means. I'd rather skip 3 realms I'm already strong in and save that pull for 4th anniversary. I'm also skipping 11 but I might pull next time if they get new (good) relics introduced.

Well 11 and 14 actually aren't very good depending on what relics you have from them. Not a lot of desirable relics from those realms.

Most of the rest of them are going to be worth drawing on by default, but it'll ultimately depend on what you have from them. There are some other fairly thin realms and if you're already fairly stacked in a realm that hasn't gotten new relics recently that's a skip consideration as well.
