Damn right an actual Native is going to say Warren is full of shit.
And I'm not the only one on our reservation who thinks so.

Far as most of us would be concerned that's a generic white woman with white privilege.

She never claimed to be 1/4 Native or whatever you're arbitrary standard for her is.

But she listed herself as a minority.

There's no way she can ever be a serious candidate for president. This thing is enough to make her the butt of jokes.

If she ever runs, that's all people are going to remember about her. She's done.

You wish.

Dude I hate Trump but you're being ridiculous.

How?

According to the report, "the great majority of (Warren's) identifiable ancestry is European." However, the report adds, "The analysis also identified 5 genetic segments as Native American in origin at high confidence."
Bustamante's analysis places Warren's Native American ancestor between six and 10 generations ago, with the report estimating eight generations. "The identity of the sample donor, Elizabeth Warren, was not known to the analyst during the time the work was performed," the report says.

6 generations would make her 1/64 Native American, 10 would make her 1/1024 Native American. Either way not enough to qualify for all the stuff she took advantage of and certainly not enough to be labeled as a "person with color."

The whole native american thing is dumb, but Warren is dumber for engaging with it. This is the kind of crap that sunk Kerry's presidential bid because he allowed Bush to make the debate on whether he did or did not earn his purple heart, as opposed to issues that mattered (or even the fact that he went and Bush didn't).

If you go far back enough in anyone's family tree, you eventually have roots everywhere. The criticism of Warren was based on her being clearly a caucasian person taking advantage of something meant to be for a minority group. I won't even get into the merits of scholarships that are only open for certain races, but you would think the left would have a backlash towards someone that would abuse the system like that.

Remember that episode of Family Guy where he found out he had some African blood going back 10 generations so he was all excited to act black? That's what this is like.

I'll give them this, at the very least: it has difficulty passing the sniff test. Why would she change her ethnicity to native american half a year after she had received tenure? As I said, I think this whole argument is a waste of time, but people don't do things for "no reason." There had to have been a reason for her to do it when she did, or otherwise she wouldn't have bothered in the first place.

The only thing the boston globe proved is that her ethnicity was not a factor in her being hired, which still leaves the question: why did she do it in the first place?

EDIT: For example, a quick google search shows that if you're a native american in MA you are eligible for a tuition waiver:

fwiw

https://www.thecrimson.com/article/1996/10/22/survey-diversity-lacking-at-hls-pa/

Although the conventional wisdom among students and faculty is that the Law School faculty includes no minority women, Chmura said Professor of Law Elizabeth Warren is Native American.

seems probable that the change was made on request of someone above her seeking PR candy, likely as a result of some personal conversations about her experiences growing up with family members who told her they were native american. globe article gave additional info on the subject about her personal reasons as well. certainly makes sense that someone would be more open about family history right after that family dies. i talked more about my dad at work after he died than before.

basically, irrelevant bullshit that does not belong in a political discussion, but is brought up because a lot of stupid white people are really mad that affirmative action exists and are looking for a scapegoat to take their impotent fury out on

Try reading it.
In an interview with the Globe published last month, Warren explained that she identified herself as Native American in the late 1980s and early 1990s as many of the matriarchs of her family were dying and she began to feel that her family stories and history were becoming lost.

the data available suggests you are lying.

https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2012/05/is-elizabeth-warren-native-american-or-what/257415/

Warren, who graduated from the University of Houston in 1970 and got her law degree from Rutgers University in 1976, did not seek to take advantage of affirmative action policies during her education, according documents obtained by the Associated Press and The Boston Globe. On the application to Rutgers Law School she was asked, "Are you interested in applying for admission under the Program for Minority Group Students?'' "No," she replied.
