I am happy this man kept his cool and has footage. This lady called the cops on him anyway after he entered his loft. This could've gone any other way if he had no proof, and I"d love to hear this lady's defense as to why she wanted his ID.

I'm not going to lie, right now I kind of side with the woman. From what I can tell, and of course I could be wrong about this, she opened the door to either leave or go back into his building and this guy just walks though a door that you usually have to key in for. If that's true, than yeah, that does seem fishy. Is she racist? I don't know. Just close the door, key in, and tell her to fuck off when you prove that you live there. Why make the situation worse?

What a nice change of pace for an article not to mention race. The reader is allowed to make their own judgement on it. It was probably due to the woman being a racist, but there's no objective fact to actually claim that. At the core of it, she is a horrible busybody and he's just a guy being put through shit because of her bullshit.

This is pretty crazy. It's amazing the guy was able to keep his cool. I would've been livid.

So to recap this week, we have a white woman questioning a black man for having two children with him and calling the cops, a white woman accusing a kid (falsely) of grabbing her ass and calling the cops and a white woman literally demanding a black man provide proof before he enter his own home...at least this one didn't shoot him while he was inside

SHe's lucky he was patient, someone else might have been less understanding. Unless she is the property manager it is not her job to ID people, and i'm willing to bet she doesn't, just that guy. Otherwise people would have complained about it.

I didn't catch that. All I heard was that the door was opened and he walked in off the street. As as a person that has to key in at work, this would make me wary as well (Well, if would if I didn't know everyone that worked there, lol)

If that's what she saw, then I do understand her concern. I wonder if she was doing this to a white person if they would get this much coverage? I don't like racism at all, but I also don't like going against a gut feeling because you don't want to offend people.

True, which is why I think a general awareness of these things is good. It gives people a chance to think it through in a "what if that happens to me?" type of way so they are able to keep their cool like this guy

Meaning this -

I work at a school, and there is a card machine we use to unlock the door, the same as it is here at were they both live. Now let's say that I open the door to leave and someone I didn't know just walked in "off the street" and went into the school building. Should I stop the person and ask for some ID to make sure everyone is on the up and up or should I just let this person I don't know walk into the school when I don't know if they should be there or not and I can't know because they didn't even open up the door with their card.

This is a scary thing. Wasn't it just a month or two ago some people got killed in the Middle East because they thought it was racist to be afraid of people over there? Is a woman a sexist if she doesn't want to get into a strange man's car because she could be assaulted? You've got to go with your gut sometimes, not with what is or isn't going to offend someone. The guy clearly could have shown he lived there, but wanted to make things difficult because I'm sure he thought she was being racist, and that's because I'm positive he has encounter a lot of racist shit in his life like people fallowing him around a store or something.

Again, I'm on her side, even though I think she's kind of a bitch. What if he wasn't supposed to be there and she got him arrested before he killed someone? She would be getting praised for being so safe and watchful. I just wish more people would take things on a case by case bases. I personally would be happy if someone make sure I was supposed to be there, but that's because school shootings are a real thing in this Country, and I want the kids to be safe, no matter who get offended. Don't have a badge to get into the door yourself (not this guy, I know he had a badge, but I still don't think he used it to get into the door) and I don't know you, go to the office and check in. No matter who you are.
