I'd put Knuckles Chaotix above 3D Blast. I at least finished KC.

I know if you get a certain version of ZSNES you can do netplay. I've played Tetris Attack and Turtles in Time with others online. Is that a thing on Gens or Kega Fusion?

Because I got pretty damn good at Mean Bean Machine.

I cant really argue with most of the list... I guess whether you like 3&K or 2 better is just opinion. I should like 2 the best because it was my first game ever but nah. There were some zones I didnt really like. Especially Metropolis which drags on for forever (this is a lot of peoples favorite zone). I dont have that with 3&K (which has a lot of zones other people hate Ive found).

And I think Mania is better than both of them

Mania is good. But after Generations. We could use some new ideas. In other words, some new fun zones. As well as new, hopefully, tripped out special stages.

Why would they make one good one to great success and not continue? I'm regaining a little faith over here.

As a kid, I used to read these Sonic comics that had all the Knuckles Chaotix characters in them. I just had a Genesis though (with all the other Sonic games) so never got to play Chaotix. This was back before YouTube or anything so I used to want to get the required hardware and play it so badly.

Now however I've looked up gameplay for it on YouTube and it does in fact look incredibly shitty.

Chaotix was horrible. The mechanics were broken and the level design sucked. Music was OK but not great.

Charmy Bee completely broke the game, too. Like a Tails that didn't get tired.

The funniest thing about it is that only the sprites were rendered by the 32X.... Literally everything else was pure Genesis hardware rendering.

Sonic CD is my favourite. It's the only one without any bullshit level design imo. Not to say it's incredibly common in the other games, but I can play straight through CD without ever getting frustrated by a level.

Also I'm a heathen because 3&K is/are my least favourite of the trilogy+CD.

There's some platforming in Spinball. It's not much, but it's still technically a platformer.
