Board 8 > Were Resident Evil 6 and 7 any good?

Last one I played was 5, and it was enjoyable but not great.

I was looking into getting 4's PS4 edition to try and get some hype for the RE2make.

6 is a mess. Decently fun coop but overall it is pretty bad

7 is incredible. The first third of the game is maybe the best thing resident evil has ever done. The rest of the game is quite good too, but there is definitely a drop in quality.

Short answer: barely. It is mostly it's own thing but it does have some tie ins. But the majority of it is it's own thing

7 is good and I played it to completion, but I'm not sure I actually enjoyed it? It was really tense and had a lot of gross bug stuff going on.

Which is probably good if you're a person who likes horror, but I'm just a guy who likes RE4 so it wasn't really for me.

RE6 has many gameplay problems and is way too long but has good story development for longtime fans.

RE7 is great and a true, genuine return to survival horror.

Yeah the battle with Ustanak when it was the Leon/Helena and Jake/Sherry crossover was probably my favorite of those.

6 continues the stories of Leon, Chris, Ada, Sherry. Has one of the best OTP's in RE.

It's not spectacular, but the Leon and Jake campaigns are pretty fun. Leon's is supposed to be more like RE4, while Chris's is supposed to be more like RE5, with Jake's being kinda God Handesque with a taste of RE: Nemesis.

the hate for 6 is overblown. Leon's and Jake's campaigns are about what you would expect based on the model set by RE5.

Chris's starts out rough, but I was into how goofy it got near the end with his steroid rage

7 is one of the best games in the series

I just got 7, 4, and the Origins edition for PS4 off Amazon for $70 together.

But the way people are talking, 6 has some decent story points.

instead of replaying 0, play revelations 1 and 2

great games, more so in the vein of RE4/5 than survival horror focused, but they're both a ton of fun and better than 6 by a pretty large margin imo

revelations are games that, kind of like 6, are played out in episodes that switch between different characters, you'll make some progress in one characters story and then switch to the other character and progress their story a bit, then back again. unlike 6 though, you dont play one route at a time to completion. they're interwoven together and you can't choose when to play which.

1 is about jill and chris, most of it takes place on a gigantic cruise liner.

2 is about claire, barry and moira burton. barry is playable!!! takes place on a fucked up island.

they're very fun games with pretty good stories, lots of good character interaction, and re4 action that's as polished as ever.

you can get revelations 1 and 2 in a combo pack, and it's very often on sale too. i would recommend waiting for one
