Vocal minority and all that. I've seen a lot of praise for this first episode, and I personally liked it a lot as someone who never much liked Moffat, and who only just finished watching all of Moffat's run.
My hope for the episode was that it would spruce the show up a bunch, give it more of a palpable atmosphere instead of like "CGI TARDIS gets lodged in throat of dinosaur, teleports it to Victorian London". It really delivered on my expectations. And it's also just so nice to see an episode that doesn't look like a series of corridors or a soundstage. --- I still hear trains at night, when the wind is right.
