There's 25 paintings and a few groups each has an equal amount of money to bid. After we have our roster of pieces from this, we'll do a gallery project.

Thing is, there 25 extra credit points for the 'winner'. Basically there are five painting categories, and each category has five paintings in it. The more paintings you have of a certain category, the more points you get, and the people with the most points win.

1 object from a given category = 2 points
2 objects = 5 points
3 objects = 15 points
4 objects = 50 points
5 objects = 100 points

If you get 2 in one category and 3 in the other, you'd get 5+15=20.
There's also a bonus for the number of works acquired:
1-4 objects = 10 points
5-6 objects = 25 points
7-8 objects = 50 points
9 objects or more = 100 points

What kind of strategy can one formulate here? I don't know any game theory or anything.
