I may or may not get both versions idk.

Historically there are only 2 reasons why I buy a new gaming platform.
1. It has a Pokemon game on it (Pokemon Tax)
2. It has at least the price of the platform in games on it (So $300 = 5x$60 games).

idk what to do, not sure if there will be any other Switch games I want because I don't like first-party Nintendo titles and everything else besides Pokemon (technically second-part) comes out on PC.

Depends. You could wait until next year for the other Pokmon game coming out. Also, depends on if you want certain games mobile, I guess. I personally like switching back and forth between tv and games for lots of games. And they do have a lot of indie games. And a good number of games I would have gotten on steam are on the switch. And it's much easier to take around then my laptop. You could always make a pro/con list...

I personally wouldn't buy it for the pokemon go add-ons, but I would probably for the next full game. But I also like First-Party Nintendo games and the indie/steam games on the switch, so...

It really is an issue of not seeing the point of mobile games. I am not playing any video games outside of the house, I am not a child and if i am out I am either at work or going out to eat / shop.

Then Idk. Up to you, I guess... I travel home somewhat often, so it's good on mobile for me on plane trips. And I use it to pass the time when I have to wait for a while. And at work when nothing's going on, or on break. That's why I made those arguments, but I also know nothing about your life, so it would be hard for me to help you make an informed decision...

I was in a gamestop today. Their 3ds section was devastated with a lack of any games for the system. Sadly 3ds is rather dead. There won't be any more real pokemon games for it.
If you want to play pokemon in the future you'll probably have to get a Switch. I suppose tc can wait till a real mainline pokemon game does show up for the system or get one now and at least play many of the other fine games that are already on the system.

Just put a Switch on layaway at Walmart and pay as you go till december 12th?
Then you don't have to pay it all up front. Toss in your games to your layaway box when they show up.
