Torchic. Almost always Torchic.
Started the campaign with Treecko the first time -- again, mostly because I loved Bulbasaur in gen 1 (and the dino theme) -- but eventually went to Torchic. Blaziken can pretty much solo 90+% of the E4 in Ruby/Sapphire, although I find Swampert to be more useful overall.

Once Blaziken gets double kick, the only others you need are something that makes ghost types hittable really. I think I ran thru oras mostly with him, the grey dog thing that shouts ghosts so they can be hit, a mega mawhile with false swipe for catching just about anything, and a slakoth for...reasons. my other two frontliners were hm slaves iirc. The Pokemon cheese factor is hard to ignore overall. For all the power training people do for competitive battles, it's still a game designed for 8 year old children. I stopped caring after gen 2 but if I ever got into gen 3 then I'd go with Mudkip just for the memes, (even though all fire types are better).
