went grocery shopping with a friend and he just opened up a bag of chips and finished it while shopping. he said he just leaves the bag in the cart and tells them to scan it. he says it's super common

but wtf...people actually do this?

I've seen this plenty of times at Walmart. I don't have a problem with a customer doing it as long as they pay for the item.

Mostly trashy people with kids that arent disciplined at home whatsoever so they let them eat shit that hasnt been purchased yet so their nasty ass crotch goblin will shut the fuck up.

My dad did this a lot in my home country. They are more lax there I suppose. I wouldn't even think about doing that here in Australia.

I worked in the produce department of a grocery during college and it was common for trashy moms to let their kids run around eating whatever they wanted off the shelves.

I'd get in trouble for confronting them but their answer was always, "I'll pay for it before I leave!"

No stupid, you won't. That shit is by the lb how are you going to weigh it if your kids already ate it?

It happens occasionally at my gas station. I always give them dirty looks whenever they do it.

Only once have I had the opportunity to shove it back in their face when their card was declined. I put everything else back and made them leave their ID while they walked across the street to the ATM to get cash to pay for the bag of peanuts they already ate.

...the dumbass was back a week later eating before buying. His card worked this time, but I told him if I caught him doing it again I wasn't going to sell to him anymore. Haven't seen him since. Must have decided to go screw over a different store. Good riddance.
