It's a handholding simulator

I stopped paying attention after gen 1 so I barely know any of the pokemon in later games.

It's just a bit boring for me since this is the 3rd time we're returning to Kanto. I wouldn't have minded some other gens thrown in to make things fresher.

I mean Im not foaming at the mouth over the games existence unlike some other people but I really dont understand why we have to keep retreading Gen 1

The gameplay is so shallow too, that I think they couldve at least added Johto too and wouldve been fine

For a lot of people this isn't gonna be a retread, ya know?

I'm over 30 years old now and I basically 'aged out' of Pokemon in gen 2 before most current gamers even got into it(or were born, for that matter)

And I haven't played Gen 1 fully in years. I'm excited to give the new shiny version a try.

The catching system is simplified but the battle system actually is the same as before.

Because Nintendo makes more money this way

Hell the game only exists to bridge the yearly lineup gap between Gen 7 and Gen 8, but more importantly for Nintendo to finally cash in on Pokmon Go (Niantic made the real money. Nintendo only earned lisencing fees)

The game is hot garbage. Take away its shiny new coat (That isnt even shiny for modern game standards) and you basically have a game that is vastly inferior to a remake that came out 14 years ago.

Nintendo doesn't even own a majority stake of the Pokemon franchise.

Do they need to? Even if they didnt directly earn a dime off Lets Go it still pushes hardware. And its right before the huge push theyre making with Smash Bros into holiday season

I was considering buying it to play with my son but it honestly looks so boring. We have Sun & Moon on 3DS and he handles that just fine, I'm not sure who this mess is aimed at. I played RB when I was like 6 years old, kids that age can handle an actual game
