It is TIEBREAKER DAY for the MLB Playoffs today.

The Brewers and the Cubs are playing in one tiebreaker, going on right now. Winner will face the eventual NL Wild Card Winner.

We say "Eventual", because the loser of this game goes onto the Wild Card game. Who they face? The loser of the Dodgers and Rockies later tonight!

Winner of that game faces the Atlanta Braves. Loser goes into the Wild Card game.

So... 1 game tiebreakers today have winners moving onto the Playoffs. The losers face each other in ANOTHER 1 game to decide who moves onto the Playoffs.

Technically everyone moves onto the playoffs whether they win or lose. The games today are just to determine the winners of the NL Central and NL West. Tomorrow is when the playoffs officially begin. I know you know this just could have been worded better in my opinion for those that don't.

But yeah, it's pretty cool. It's been a crazy season. The American League had three teams with 100+ wins and three with 100+ losses. And two game 163's for the National League is quite rare.

I'm a Canadian who is a huge Blue Jays fan, they were my first sports team I ever really liked (before any hockey teams even), but in the NL I always liked the Cubs. Mainly because I fucking LOVE Wrigley Field.

I'm a Canadian who is a huge Blue Jays fan, they were my first sports team I ever really liked (before any hockey teams even), but in the NL I always liked the Cubs. Mainly because I fucking LOVE Wrigley Field.

Sorry man, but I have multiple reasons to cheer against the Cubs tonight:

1) I live near St. Louis, so I'm primarily a Cardinals fan. We hate the Cubs.
2) I have family/friends who recently moved to Colorado, so I've adopted the Rockies as a bit of a secondary favorite.
3) I used to live in Miami, so my other main favorite is the Marlins, and that also gives me an appreciation for other expansion teams and underdogs like the Rockies.

I cheered for the Cubs in 2015-2016 because I wanted to see them break their curse, but once they finally did it, I went back to cheering against them.

Yeah, the Red Sox look pretty damn scary on paper. But we've said that about them before and they've underachieved. I think if Oakland knocks out the Yankees tomorrow, they could surprise the Red Sox and use that momentum to run through the playoffs like a buzzsaw. This year's Oakland team reminds me of the 2014 Royals and 2011 Cardinals, teams that came into the postseason with a lot of momentum and tore through teams that most fans/analysts thought were better than them that year.

I'm just saying, the best and most talented team in baseball doesn't win the World Series nearly as much as you'd expect.

I'm on the opposite side of this one too. I'm pulling for the A's because they're an exciting underdog, plus I have to cheer on one of my favorite former Cardinals, Stephen Piscotty. He and the A's going far would be a great story after the circumstances that led to him landing in Oakland in the first place.
