Didn't you get the warning every time you logged for weeks that it would be changing? I got tired of that warning and finally "upgraded", and... it wasn't even a big change.

I'd go ahead and not use it. I've discarded a number of sites and software because some idiot thought they knew what I wanted better than I do.

And no, I don't like the change either, but this is such a pompous way of complaining about it...

I don't know if there's a way to go back, but you can catch it while it's loading and click use basic HTML, which sucks a lot less. Once there, there's an option to make that the default.

So, the way I did it was find the little gear(it should be under you avatar pic in the top right corner), and clicked 'change back to classic gmail. That seemed to work for me and some others. But a bunch of people here couldn't do it. But I would say to at least try.

Losing users will send the message. Then again I have nothing to do with any part of Goog anyhow. Nobody asked for the change. I've blocked captchas and written to complain about them. I've ignored sites that want PW's that include numbers and capitals. I'm probably going to write to Adobe so they stop sending me error messages about updating Flash.

It kinda ties into the topic about XP. If it isn't broken, DON'T fix it. Problems will be introduced that weren't there before. I don't think I used XP though, went from 2K on my desktop to 7 on my lappy and I'll be here until something breaks.

They removed it for you? That's weird. I hope they don't remove it from me. Mine changed last night, but I was able to change it back. It would suck if they made it gross and unusable...

That's how Google has been operating since the mid-2000s. They roll changes out randomly and gradually so people can't cohesively bitch.

How is this dumbass at all? Have you ever seen that DPs guy post? He thinks he's right about everything. No he didn't literally say that companies should cater strictly to whatever he wants, but it wouldn't surprise me if he believes it.

If it was anybody else saying that I probably wouldn't have made a comment on it

True. My PW's are good enough. Forcing me to use more shit means I gotta change something and will forget it. As of now I can't get into hotmail anymore (used as a junkbox). Tried my PW's, now it wants captchas, can't get a hold of support because they want you to log in (which is what's broken in the first place), I mean has M$ ever done anything right? Should try to remember what sites sent crap there and make a new account.

Cater would be nice but it's not much to ask to be left alone, not get forced into their BS changes.

I dislike the PW thing too but that's a weird reason to not use a site. Most of them are just following suit with some dumb standards made a long time ago. Granted, even the guy who made those apologized for how bad they are recently (like a year or two ago), so maybe websites will stop doing it, though I haven't seen much change yet

Password. Letters are good enough. If you force people to use symbols and numbers, your site deserves to close.

I just keep it as basic HTML otherwise it runs like Chrome with more than one tab open.

I always thought the gmail layout was shit so used the HTML version. I only ever changed it back when I needed to delete as mass amount of emails since you can't do it in the HTML version.

At this point every single e-mail client and their mother supports gmail, so if you don't like the web interface just download your favorite client and use that instead. I don't think I have used web gmail in years.
