overall not a hugely impactful story since it was a prequel/spin-off, but the characters were good, the visuals stunningly beautiful, even more so for your typical star wars movie, and the protagonist was quite enjoyable. bonus points for ending in a way that not many run-of-the-mill stories end with too, though we expected that one.

I liked Rogue One but the Last Jedi is my favorite, for sure, now. Just watched it for the fourth time (first at home) and it was confirmed.

I thought the story, acting, action, sound and visuals were all really great. It's not perfect but it's such a different Star Wars movie and it works for me. I understand why it's so polarizing, though.

I almost fell asleep in the theater during this movie. First real Disney red flag as I thought TFA was derivative, but still decent.

Really? Everytime I watch it that 2 and a half hours seems so quick! I feel like it's paced well.

To each their own, but yeah, I wasn't embellishing. The first half- 3/4 was a snooze fest imo.

Hmm. To me it's the most engaging/dynamic of the films. I'm immediately drawn in.

I liked the last minutes where everything was blowing up and it looked all flashy and cool.
The rest was forgettable as fuck and the characters were lame.

so no.

Oh wait, the last 15 years. Well they were all pretty bad, so maybe.

I agree with the visuals and sounds, it looks pretty damn awesome.

Everything else was awful:

-Holdo wanted everyone to just blindly follow her orders without explaining anything, this made her no better than the Empire they were figthing.
-The Hyperjump scene, it may looked really impressive, but it destroyed the Star Wars lore established.
Rose letting the restistance get nuked, who knows how many people died due to her actions.
-The fight between Phasma and Finn was an absolute fluke. Instead of spreading it over three movies, the first where he rebels and gets his ass whooped, the second where they are evenly matched because Finn has trained and improved and the third where he finally beats her in an epic battle. Also; "Chrome dome".
-Snoke getting killed halfway through the movie.
-They tried to have Avengers like banter, it just didn't work in this movie, and felt really forced.
-Luke being absolutely bitter and the goddamn green milk scene.
-Leia having unexplained random force powers.
-There was only one guy that could possibly break the code on the Dreadnaught, Rose and Finn randomly find another guy that also could do it, but he turned out to be a traitor and in the end THAT didn't even matter.
-The complete disconnect in the final scene from what happened: everyone is laughing, happy, smiling, even though the Resistance got destroyed, hundreds maybe thousands of lives were lost (thanks Rose) and they are acting like they won the fight.
-Not a single actual lightsaber fight. Rey and Kylo fought off the guards of Snoke, but none of them had a lightsaber, and Luke and Kylo never clashed because lol projection.

It's been awhile since I saw the last jedi, and I really don't remember much of it but What did Rose do that screwed them over? I just remember her and Finn going to some planet to something to help them escape or something, I don't remember her letting the Resistance getting destroyed. As I said, it's been awhile, but just curious because I honestly don't remember.
